About Us
Sebastian Rojas Alfaro is one of the Co-founders of Celeste Aerial Arts and cat-dad of 5 furry little babies. Sebastian started off as a martial artist in 2003 and began teaching Tae-Kwon-Do after he obtained his black belt in 2008. Martial arts has given him an understanding of the body and awareness that smoothly translated to aerials. He originally started his aerial practice on Silks. Around 2016 he found his passion for rope and straps and over the next few years began to develop his own unique teaching style based on dynamic movements and attention to detail in technique. His goal has been to bring both of these apparatuses into the spotlight in the metro Detroit area.

Meet Kylie! Kylie is a hammock and double loop instructor with over 5 years of aerial experience. Since falling in love with the creativity + inclusivity of the circus community in 2018, she loves to give new students the same warm welcome she received! In her classes, you’ll focus on creative shape-play, compelling storytelling, and (safe!) experimentation. Kylie is receptive to the individual needs of each student, and provides a comfortable environment with clear and concise instruction.
Outside of circus, Kylie is a full-time art director, runs a photography and design business, and manages Sunday Best Boudoir, a body-positive, inclusive, and accessible boudoir brand. Even outside of her creative 9-5 job, she loves to create in her 5-9: hunting down + photographing roadside farm stands, hand-crafting charcuterie boards, patio gardening, and documenting the daily antics of her cat, Hazelnut.

Cheryl's history of fascination with movement and music runs as far back as she can remember.
In 2008, she took to the air on fabric for the first time and never wanted to come down.
Her circus art experiences became a launchpad for life changing opportunities. Teaching and performing goals quickly evolved and she spent the next decade furthering her training through NECCA, Paper Doll Militia, and with other highly skilled aerialists from around the country. All this eventually leading to her position of co-owner and aerial arts director she held for 5 years at Agora Arts. Now a teacher at Celeste, she specializes in aerial fabric and choreography building but has many years experience teaching lyra (duo/solo), sling, static trapeze, and more!
Cheryl strives to encourage students of all levels to find long term success through progressions, movement efficiency, building thematic choreography, and understanding theory.

Jenna started her aerial journey at the age of 12 after retiring from a competitive gymnastics career. She quickly fell in love with the fusion of strength, flexibility, creativity, and artistry that aerial arts offered as well as the welcoming, supportive community. What began as a hobby on silks soon grew into a lifelong passion, leading her to train across multiple disciplines including rope, straps, hammock, and contortion.
When she’s not in the air, Jenna is a PhD student studying cancer biology. Outside the lab and studio, you’ll find her hiking, gardening, or baking sourdough bread and other homemade treats.
As a teacher, Jenna brings both technical knowledge and encouragement to every class. She is passionate about helping students discover their strength, embrace their individuality, and find joy in movement.
Britt has over a decade of aerial arts experience and began her journey as an aerial instructor and professional performer in 2016. She is a multidisciplinary aerialist that has an affinity for all things aerial hoop! She has extensive experience working with students at various skill levels on traditional aerial apparatuses including lyra, hammock, silks, and trapeze. But she especially loves working with students on more unique apparatuses such as the lollipop and pocket lyra. She is passionate about helping students develop performance routines and workshop challenging tricks to expand and strengthen their repertoire.
Outside of circus, Britt is a fully licensed Social Worker and Clinical Therapist that is working towards a doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Her experience as a mental health professional has deepened her understanding of the mind-body connection and its essential role in overall wellness, which serves as the guiding philosophy of her teaching approach. She strives to create an environment where students feel empowered, supported, and connected while they work towards their individual aerial goals.
